Heldables

by Sourish25

Heldables is a Forge mod that automates holding and pressing keys, bound to one macro key for a chosen key.

ForgeClient or server, optionalMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.2 – 1.19.4

What it does

Heldables lets a player bind a macro key that repeats a press or holds a specified key, such as Z, until the macro key is pressed again. Its stated use is for skill-heavy mods where a key must stay held, for example the skills in Tensura Reincarnated. The key to hold is set by editing a short line of code, so the mod is adapted rather than configured through a menu.

The mod is lightweight and is described as having minimal performance impact on gameplay. Its source code is public, and it is released under the MIT License, so the code is open source. Files exist only for Forge, for the game versions 1.19.2, 1.19.3 and 1.19.4, with the latest file 1.0.1 for 1.19.4 dated 2025-01-04. Either side can run it and neither needs it, so it works on a client alone, a server alone or both.

Key features

  1. Macro key toggle

One key toggles a repeated press, so a player does not have to hold the key manually during long fights.

  2. Held key selection

The key that is held can be changed by editing a line in the mod's code, which sets the key to hold.

  3. Low performance cost

The author describes the mod as having minimal performance impact, meant to keep gameplay smooth.

  4. Forge installation

The mod is placed in the mods folder and started with a Forge profile, and Java 17 or higher must be installed.

Use cases

Skill-heavy mods

Players of mods that need a key held down for skills, such as Tensura Reincarnated, can automate the hold.

Who it’s for: Players who run Forge 1.19.2 – 1.19.4 and use mods with held-key skills. Server owners can run it too, since it is optional on the server.

Questions

Does Heldables need to be installed on the server?

No. Either side can run it and neither needs it, so a server can run it or leave it out.

Which loader does Heldables support?

Heldables is published for Forge only, for 1.19.2, 1.19.3 and 1.19.4.

How does the held key get changed?

The held key is set by editing a line in the mod's code, so a player who wants another key must modify that line.

In the catalog
