HardUpgrade slows early progress and ties maximum health to combat level, so a character must keep improving to get stronger.

What it does

Early in the game, HardUpgrade adds difficulty for beginners by slowing progress. Players gain skill tree points on each level-up. Maximum HP rises with level: +2 HP, one heart, per level for levels 1–10, then +1 HP, half a heart, per level for levels 11–50. Reaching level 50 applies Mining Fatigue, and Slowness is also applied at that level. Walking and exploring the world, and completing blocks, bring the following level closer. Digging speed increases by 0.1 across 5 levels. Fabric API is required. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric and Forge for 1.20.1, under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source.
