Hardcore LAN Commands

by donutello

Hardcore LAN Commands restores the ability to turn on commands and cheats in a hardcore world opened to LAN, an option removed starting in 26.2.

FabricNeoForgeClient-side onlyAll rights reserved26.2 – 26.3

What it does

Since the change that arrived with 26.2-pre-5, opening a hardcore world to LAN no longer lets the host switch commands or cheats on. Hardcore LAN Commands reverts that change, so the player hosting a singleplayer or LAN world can enable commands and pass that permission to others.

Only the player hosting the singleplayer or LAN world needs the mod installed. It is a client-side mod with no effect on dedicated servers or on Realms worlds hosted by other players. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with files for 26.2 and 26.3, and the latest builds are 1.0.2 for 26.3. The code is under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Commands on LAN worlds

Enables commands and cheats when a hardcore world is opened to LAN, the option that 26.2 removed.

  2. Control over other players

The host can turn on commands for the people joining the world, not only for themselves.

  3. Host-only installation

Only the player hosting a singleplayer or LAN world needs the mod; joining players do not.

  4. Bug report details

The author asks that issue reports include as much detail as possible.

Questions

Does Hardcore LAN Commands need to be on the server?

No. It is client-side only, so the player hosting the singleplayer or LAN world installs it, and dedicated servers and Realms do not need it.
