With HandToHand, a player walks up to a friend and presses R to hand over the item in the main hand, a quick way to give items during play.

What it does

HandToHand lets players pass items directly to one another. Pressing the give key while facing another player sends the held item straight to that player's inventory, and holding Ctrl sends a full stack instead of a single item. The mod is aimed at roleplay and casual servers, where players share goods without dropping them on the ground. It is server-side only, so players join without installing anything.

Files are published for Fabric and Forge, across 10 release versions 1.19 – 1.20.4, and the mod requires playerAnimator to run. The latest Fabric file is 1.0.0 for 1.19.4 and the latest Forge file is 1.0.2 for 1.20.1, so a server on either loader can add it.

Key features

  1. Direct item handover

    Pressing R while facing a nearby player moves the held item into that player's inventory.

  2. Full stack transfers

    Holding Ctrl while pressing the give key sends the whole stack rather than one item.

  3. No ground drops

    Items go from hand to hand, so they do not land on the ground and get picked up by someone else.
