GUI Shop

by UnsafeDodo

GUI Shop lets a server administrator create and manage graphical shops with commands, and the shops can be opened for a chosen player.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.2 – 1.20.2

What it does

Shops are built with commands: an item shop is created with a guishop additem line that sets the item, buy and sell prices, a name, a split description and a shiny flag. Items can be removed again with guishop removeitem, and a shop can be opened for a specific player with guishop open. Names and descriptions accept the Simplified Text Format, and items can also be added through a JSON file. Changes to the config file take effect after a guishop reload.

The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. It needs Fabric API and runs on Fabric for 1.19.2 – 1.20.2, with files for 1.20.1 as the latest build. Permissions can be handled through LuckPerms, and later shops can be opened by commands, which allows integration with NPC mods such as Taterzens. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Command-built item shops

Administrators add, edit and remove item entries with guishop commands, setting prices, names and descriptions in one line.

  2. Shops opened for one player

A shop can be opened for a named player, which suits tutorials, private trade counters and quest rewards.

  3. JSON item definitions

Items can be written into a JSON file as an alternative to commands, with a reload applied after editing.

  4. Formatted text and NBT

Item names and descriptions support the Simplified Text Format, and the additem command can carry NBT data.

  5. LuckPerms permission support

Access to shop commands and shops can be governed with LuckPerms permission nodes on the server.

Use cases

Server economy hubs

Server owners set up shops at spawn or in a market area, with prices kept in the config and commands.

NPC trading

Shops are opened through commands, so an NPC mod can call them and offer the same menu to players.

Who it’s for: Server owners and administrators who want shops configured with commands or a JSON file rather than a plugin interface. Players only need the vanilla client.

How it compares

Full comparison

GShop is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, but it only targets 1.16.5, so it does not cover the versions GUI Shop supports. Diamond Chest Shops is server-side only under the MIT License and works on Fabric and Forge for 1.18.1 – 1.20.4. Qube's Server Shop requires clients as well as the server, is not open source and covers 1.20.1 – 1.20.6 on Fabric.
