What it does

Gravity Changer changes the direction and strength of gravity for most entities, with the player as the main target. Gravity potion effects, items that change the gravity of whatever they are held against, and gravity plates that generate gravity fields over a customizable range are all part of the mod. Living entities, projectiles and minecarts change gravity by default, and other entity types can be allowed through the gravity changer:allowed entity type tag.

The mod also provides an API for other mods to modify the direction and strength of entity gravity, and it exposes commands for the functions it alters. Some entity behaviors, such as pathfinding, can break when an entity is rotated toward a changed target, so the author notes that players are generally fine but the mod is built around the player. Required dependencies are Cloth Config API and Fabric API. The mod is published for Fabric only, with files for 1.20.6 and 1.21.1, the latest being 1.3.3 for 1.21.1 on the beta channel. It is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server. Gravity Grid requires it.

Key features

  1. Gravity potion effects

Potion effects change the gravity an entity experiences while the effect is active.

  2. Gravity plates and fields

  3. Entity type tag

Entities outside the defaults can be allowed to change gravity through the gravity changer:allowed tag.

  4. Commands and API

Commands control the functions the mod alters, and an API lets other mods change entity gravity direction and strength.
