Godly Vampirism

by maxanier

Godly Vampirism is a small server-side addon that changes the default values of the Vampirism mod's configuration, so vampires and hunters get different balance without any new content.

ForgeNeoForgeServer-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The addon only edits Vampirism's configuration. Blood consumption is significantly lower, sun damage and its nausea effect are reduced, and the yellow sun indicator is smaller. Each level grants vampires double the skill points, and lords gain the ability to command two minions for every level they reach, while fire damage rises by a near-doubling amount. Abilities for both vampires and hunters are enhanced, and vampires teleport further and more often.

The changes apply only to new worlds. Existing worlds can be updated with the command run godly-vampirism apply admin in singleplayer. Because the mod affects only the server side, a client does not need it. Its default values can still be overridden in Vampirism's configuration, since the addon touches only defaults. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 on Forge and NeoForge.

Key features

  1. Lower blood usage

Vampires consume significantly less blood, which changes how often they need to feed.

  2. Reduced sun effects

Sun damage and nausea are reduced, and the yellow sun indicator is shown smaller.

  3. Skill points and minions

Skill points per level are doubled, and each lord level allows two minions.

  4. Wider teleport and fire damage

Vampires teleport further and more often, and fire damage is almost increased.

Questions

Does Godly Vampirism need to be installed on the client?

No. Players join without it, since only the server has to run the mod. Players join without installing anything.

Does the addon change existing worlds?

Not automatically. It only affects new worlds, and an existing world can be updated with the godly-vampirism apply admin command in singleplayer.

Can the values still be changed after installing it?

Yes. The addon changes default values only, so Vampirism's configuration can still be adjusted further.

Which loaders and versions are supported?

Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest file for both loaders is 1.10.0, dated 2026-01-21.
