Goat Separator changes how screaming goats look and shows a name tag above them, for players on Fabric who want them set apart.
What it does
The mod gives screaming goats a different look and shows a yellow name tag above each one. The tag is toggled on and is visible within 64 blocks of the player. The text reads either the goat's name or Screaming Goat, depending on the entity. Players can also swap the texture by placing a new image in the mod's entity folder for goats.
Goat Separator is a client-side only mod, so only the player's client needs it and a server running vanilla goats needs nothing. The author notes that using it on a server may be considered cheating, so server owners should ask permission before allowing it. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code and issue tracker are public. It is a fit for modpacks that want the screaming goat presentation changed.
The mod requires Fabric API, which must be installed next to it. Files exist for Fabric only, across eight release versions in that range, and the latest file is 1.1.1+1.20.2 for 1.20.2, published on 2023-09-23. The first file was published on 2023-06-21.

Golden Horn Goat is a Fabric mod for client-side only play, under All rights reserved, and it covers 1.21.11 – 26.3, so it does not overlap Goat Separator's version range. Horny Alert is also client-side only on Fabric and open source under the MIT License, but it is built for 1.20.4 alone. Horse Trumpet needs Fabric, Forge or Quilt, requires the server while the client is optional, and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0, which is a different environment and license from Goat Separator.
