While the player peeks left or right, the player entity shifts half a block in that direction. The peeking animation is not tied to the vanilla 20-tick rate, which is what makes the motion look continuous rather than stepped. The peek can be interrupted at any point, and movement stays possible while the player is leaning.

The mod is a client-side Forge build for 1.20.1 under the MIT License, and it is not open source. Settings are handled through a configuration interface, which is required before the mod can present its configuration page. The optional TaCZ and playerAnimator dependencies are listed for the gunfight context the author targets.

Because the change is only on the client, it can run on a vanilla server. Since the entity displacement is visible to others, a server owner should confirm that the server allows such modifications before joining.
