Gather

by eth4n-dev

Gather adds a HUD that works out the base materials a goal needs, with have and need counts, plus outlines, a chest scanner, a shulker collector and a crafting overlay.

FabricClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

Players set a goal and Gather calculates the base materials still missing, showing each one with its have and need counts on a HUD. Leaf materials can be broken automatically to reach a goal, and the recipe breakdown is generated without a manual lookup. The crafting overlay lists the goals a crafting table panel can make right now.

Gather fits survival play and building projects where a long list of resources has to be collected from the world and storage. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Fabric only, for 14 release versions 1.21.1 – 26.1.2, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later; the code is open source, with a source repository, issue tracker and wiki. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu and Where Is It (Unofficial Port) are optional.

Key features

  1. Material gathering

The HUD lists the base materials a goal requires and tracks how many are held and how many are still needed.

  2. World block outlines

Source blocks for the needed materials are outlined in the world, and an xray toggle shows them through terrain.

  3. Chest scanning

Nearby chests that hold needed items are tracked, so players know where a missing resource is stored.

  4. Shulker collector

Needed items are pulled automatically from a shulker box the player carries.

Questions

Does Gather require Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, so it must be installed next to Gather on Fabric.

Does the server need Gather?

Yes. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod.

Why is the xray toggle restricted?

The above-terrain block view is off by default and needs an admin to enable it with the gatherop xray command.

What the author says

Gather is a mod that I decided to build when I found myself needing to collect materials for an automatic storage system. It goes without saying that the development of the mod delayed the storage system project quite a bit lol.
