Gamma Boost, formerly Underground Ambient Lighting, raises the gamma setting in selected contexts so dark areas are easier to see.

What it does

Gamma Boost brightens the view in certain contexts, and only the client needs it. Vanilla servers run without it, since the work happens entirely on the player's side. Fabric and Forge files exist for 1.17 – 1.19, and the mod requires Fabric API and Frame API.

    Brightness is raised only in certain situations, not across every scene at once.

  2. Configurable values

    Changing the config values can make the boost stronger, which some players treat as a cheat.
