Functional Storage Legacy

Players store items in drawers that hold a single item type each, and the mod carries that design back to the 1.12.2 release. Drawers come as wooden blocks in 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 sizes, and each wood type (oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia and dark oak) has its own set. Compacting drawers convert stacked items into denser forms, with a three-tier version and a simpler two-tier version available.

Storage upgrades scale a drawer's capacity multiplicatively. Drawer contents and upgrade settings are kept with the item data when a drawer is broken and placed again. Drawer items expose the IItemHandler capability, so other mods can insert and extract items through standard item handler access. The collector upgrade can gather dropped items into a fluid, and it supports both of the collection behaviors described for it.

The mod is open source under the MIT License, and the source code is publicly available. It runs on Forge for Minecraft 1.12.2 only, with a single release file, 1.1.2 for 1.12.2, dated 2026-09-01. Because it is client and server, both the server and every player need it. It was first published on 2026-03-10.
