Frozify
by XZX
With Frozify installed, the player's body temperature rises and falls with the surroundings, and the player has to manage it to stay alive in cold biomes.
What it does
Frozify adds a temperature system that affects the player's health. Nearby cold blocks such as ice and snow lower the temperature quickly, while lava and bonfires raise it. Cold water and rain near cold blocks speed up freezing, and if the temperature falls too low the player begins to lose health.
Players guard against the cold with shelters and clothing. Leather armor protects less well than warmer garments, and the mod adds three new armor pieces. A potion of cold resistance lowers the temperature to a comfortable level, and a potion of heat protection allows travel through deserts and other hot biomes. A wall thermometer unit shows the ambient temperature when the player points at it, and its reading changes with the environment. Frozify runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod.
Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 17 release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.21.10, and the code is covered by the Apache License 2.0. The project is not open source. An issue tracker is linked from the project page.
