Frostbyte's Slabs & Stairs

by FrostbyteGames

Frostbyte's Slabs & Stairs adds slabs, stairs, walls, fences and other partial-block variants for many vanilla blocks, so builders can shape surfaces beyond full cubes.

FabricClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.01.19 – 26.3

What it does

Partial-block variants are added for a wide set of vanilla blocks, including concrete, terracotta and several decorative stone types. Walls are given metal, wood, ice and stone-type blocks, while slabs and stairs cover metal, wood, ice and stone-type blocks as well. Fences and fence gates are given wood-type blocks and nether bricks, and buttons and pressure plates are offered for metal, wood and stone types.

Cracked, chiseled, polished and similar stone forms are included where they fit. Layers work in a similar way to snow layers and are added for leaves, sand, gravel and concrete powder. The author describes the choice of which blocks receive which variants as somewhat arbitrary, following a basic form. Some wood-based recipes are only possible through the mod, which is noted as a way to get past possible recipe conflicts.

Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It requires Fabric API. Builds cover 1.19 – 26.3 on Fabric, with 26 release versions listed, and the latest Fabric file targets 26.3. The license is Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0, and the mod is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.
