Forget-Me-Crops
by DuelMonster
Forget-Me-Crops converts an ordinary field of plants into a farm that operates on its own, with one anchor chest at its center that takes over harvesting and replanting duties.
What it does
Setup takes one waterlogged anchor chest, a top-mounted item frame and a hoe. From there the anchor runs a timer, by default every 300 ticks or 15 seconds, and harvests supported crops that have matured inside the scan footprint. Ripe drops go into nearby chests and barrels first, with the anchor chest as overflow, and seeds are pulled back out to replant empty farmland, soul sand tiles and gaps, using the nearby crop pattern. Dirt or grass gaps can be retilled to farmland, and a broken or missing hoe is replaced from storage when one is available.
The mod is built for players who would rather build a farm once than repeat the harvest each session. It requires Cloth Config API, and the frame lookup works with FastItemFrames. Both the Fabric and NeoForge builds use the same config screen, which opens from the Fabric Mod Menu or the NeoForge Mods menu, and config files are stored in the instance folder. The code is open source under the MIT License, and Fabric and NeoForge files are published for 26.3.
Key features
Automatic harvesting
Supported crops that have matured are harvested on each anchor timer tick without any manual action.
Replanting from storage
Empty farmland is replanted from fresh drops first and from chest stock after that, one crop type per tile.
Extra seed handling
A reduced mode halves the extra seeds from fruit crops such as carrot, potato and nether wart before they are inserted.
Adjustable scan area
Extra storage is found through a scan range around the anchor, so chests and barrels beyond the crop area can still be used.
