Floating Excavation
by DY_XiaoJiaZi
Floating Excavation removes the mining speed penalty that vanilla Minecraft applies in certain situations, so digging stays at a steadier pace.
What it does
Under the vanilla rules, the speed at which a block breaks drops in some circumstances, such as when the player is airborne or underwater. Floating Excavation changes those specific cases so the mining speed is not reduced there. The mod works on the core mining mechanics rather than adding new blocks or items, and it is built to stay compatible with most other mods.
The mod is a Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 only. It needs no configuration and takes effect as soon as it is installed. Its behavior is kept in sync between client and server, so every player in a multiplayer game sees the same results. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is under All rights reserved, and the source code is publicly available.
