FLAGS
by erdemstandi
With Flags installed, players can place flag blocks that display national flags, including South Africa and the German Empire, across a world.
What it does
Flags adds a number of flag blocks to the game. Each flag occupies a single 1x1 block footprint, so it fits on walls, floors and builds of any size. The mod is built around painted flag designs, and the pack includes a South Africa flag and a German Empire flag among its options.
Installing Flags requires Fabric, Forge or NeoForge, and the mod needs a painting to be used in the design. Players cannot craft the painting directly into a flag; it has to be obtained through the usual game routes first. The environment is client and server, so both the server and every player must run the mod for flags to appear and work correctly in multiplayer.
Flags is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 18 release versions, spanning 1.20 – 1.21.11. The latest Fabric file is 2.0.0 for 1.21.11, and the latest Forge and NeoForge files are 1.8.0 in the beta channel. The code is not open source; the author keeps all rights reserved.
Key features
Number-based flag game
The mod adds a flag collecting game where players work through a set of flags by number.
National flag blocks
Flags modeled on South Africa and the German Empire are available as placeable blocks.
Single-block footprint
Every flag is a 1x1 block, so flags can be placed on walls and floors without a large build area.
Painting-based crafting
Flags are made from a painting, so the painting must be obtained before a flag can be produced.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Flags suits players who enjoy decorative building and collecting, and server owners who want a light activity on a shared world. Because both sides need the mod, it is most practical when installed on every player's client and on the server.
How it compares
Pride Paintings is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.16.5 – 1.21.4 that is not open source, and it also needs both sides. Prideful covers Forge and NeoForge only, for 1.20.1 – 1.21.8, with the same client and server environment. Show Your Identity is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and is published for 1.20.1 – 1.21.11 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, so it reaches the same loaders and a wider version span than Flags.
