Robin's Fishery
by RobinsPlaza
Robin's Fishery adds many biome-dependent fish, so a player fishing in a new area can catch species that do not appear elsewhere in the world.
What it does
Most of the new fish depend on the biome where they are caught, and up to 25 of them appear only when the matching mods are installed. Fish are also cooked through a generic recipe, so one cooked form covers every species and the inventory stays small. Treasure catch rates are raised, which gives an alternative to repeated villager trading.
Catch rates for specific fish can be set by the world seed, so the same seed gives the same distribution. Fish restrictions, catch chances and the treasure loot are all defined in the mod's own loot tables, which follow the standard Minecraft loot table system. Recipes use common tags, and EMI can show the loot tables for viewing.
Some fish are tied to other mods: Echofin and Sculkamander need Deep Dark at level 20, Anglerfish needs Deep Ocean at level 10, Jellyfish needs Deep Ocean at level 15, and Tropical Fish needs Warm Ocean at level 10. Freshwater Rivers is also used for the default non-ocean catches. Aether adds more fish when it is installed. The mod is published for Fabric only, and the current build covers 1.21 – 26.2.
Key features
Biome-dependent fish
New fish are caught only in the biomes they belong to, with up to 25 extra species when the related mods are installed.
Cooked fish recipe
A single generic cooking recipe handles every fish, which keeps the number of cooked food items low.
Higher treasure rates
Treasure catches appear more often, offering an alternative to repeated villager trades for certain items.
Seed-based catch rates
Catch rates for specific fish follow the world seed, so each world has its own fish distribution.

How it compares
Fisheries with Breedable Fish is server-side only, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and published for 26.1 – 26.1.2, so it adds breeding rather than biome fish. Cookable Tropical Fish is a client and server mod under the MIT License, published for 1.21.11 only, which covers cooking the tropical fish and nothing more. There's Always a Bigger Fish runs on client and server with Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1 – 26.3 under a custom license that is not open source.

What the author says
Q: Ports to 1.X.X? Backports? Official Neoforge support? > A: Currently my goal is just to maintain the Fabric version for each new Minecraft update from 1.21 onward. So, no backports. > > As for Neoforge, it's very unlikely. Q: Can I make a port myself then? > A: Go ahead! All the code and assets are freely…
