Fiber-Optic Cables
by PurpleShiny
Fiber-Optic Cables carries several redstone signals through a single block space, using cables and transformer blocks at each end.
What it does
A fiber optic cable transmits signals instantly along a straight line, so one line can carry multiple redstone signals within one block space. The cable itself only goes in a straight line. Transformer blocks encode a redstone signal onto a cable and decode it again at the other end. A transformer can be placed on any of six faces and turned to face another transformer, and the signal is retained in that direction.
Each transformer cycles through nine color-coded signal states when right-clicked, and shift-right-clicking switches it between ENCODE and DECODE mode. In ENCODE mode, redstone power applied to the transformer sends its signal down the line of cables. In DECODE mode, a transformer facing another one emits redstone power when the matching signal arrives. Config options change how far a signal can travel, with a default of 64 blocks. A debug option makes particles appear around updated cable blocks.
The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge, for two release versions: 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest files are 1.0.1 for 1.20.1 and 1.0.1 for 1.21.1, both dated 2025-11-12. The code is under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source. The mod is incompatible with Essential Mod.

What the author says
Luckily, Mojang REFUSES to add sharks to the game, because otherwise there would be some major problems with this mod. (Check the gallery to see for yourself how things work.)
