Fayaz's Lockout
by fayaz
In Fayaz's Lockout, competitors chase a shared list of objectives, and each one can be scored only by the first player to claim it, with several play modes built around that rule.
What it does
Each objective can be claimed only once. When one player claims it, nobody else can score on the same objective, so the race moves on to the remaining ones. A game can be set to end once a chosen number of objectives have been reached first. The modes cover deaths, kills, advancements, armor and food, and players can compete against each other on a shared list.
Deaths are matched by damage type and entity type, and the death message is compared with player names removed, so a burned death from a zombie is distinct from a burned death from another source. Kill objectives count different mob types separately, such as a zombie, a creeper, a skeleton, an iron golem or a warden. Installation needs Fabric on a Minecraft 1.21.11 client or server; the mod is released under the MIT License and the source code is public. Snapshot builds are published as well.

Race for unique objectives
Players compete to claim unique objectives, and a claimed objective cannot be scored by anyone else.
Death and kill objectives
Deaths match damage type, entity type and the death message, and kills count each mob type as its own objective.
Armor and food claims
Players claim materials by wearing complete matching armor sets or single armor pieces, and by consuming foods such as apples, bread and golden carrots.
Advancement race
Players race to complete vanilla advancements, while recipe-based entries are left off the list.

How it compares
Simple Death Messages is a Fabric mod for 1.21.11 that is server-side only and not open source, so it only changes death messages. KillCredits+ is server-side only for 1.21.11 and not open source, and it tracks kill credit rather than a competitive objective race. Discordo is open source under the MIT License, but it covers 1.21 – 1.21.1 and is also server-side only.
