FastSuite [FABRIC]
by 1Influence
FastSuite is a Fabric optimization mod that speeds up recipe matching by letting several threads check recipe combinations at once.
What it does
Crafting and smelting lookups normally run on a single thread. FastSuite replaces the recipe manager with a concurrent matching model in which multiple threads test recipe combinations in parallel. The author reports recipe lookups of about 10x faster, with a 12x speedup in one of the test sets, though these figures come from the author and are not independently verified.
The mod is an unofficial port of a project first developed for Forge and NeoForge. It requires Cloth Config API and Mod Menu, and it is published for Fabric only, with files for 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.8, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11. The latest file is 6.0.7 for 1.21.11. It runs on the client alone, is licensed under the MIT License, and is not open source.
Recipe types that cause problems with concurrent matching can be excluded through the configuration file. The author says the concurrent model is less brittle than earlier versions because it avoids writing data during matching, which reduces conflicts with other mods.
Key features
Concurrent recipe matching
Several threads match recipe combinations at the same time instead of relying on one thread for all of the work.
Recipe type coverage
More than 100 recipe types can use concurrent matching, and problem types can be excluded through the configuration file.
Recipe manager replacement
The mod swaps in its own recipe manager, and the author describes this replacement as non-intrusive toward other mods.
Benchmark results
The author's tests cover acacia planks, sticks, crafting table, black shulker box and a failed match, comparing single-threaded and multithreaded lookups in nanoseconds.
