False Reality • Time Changer

by DevPieter

With False Reality, a Fabric client mod, players set the in-game time of day, the moon phase and the weather for each world or for all of them.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 1.21.8

What it does

The mod gives the player direct control over the client-side clock. Time can be set to a chosen value or adjusted in small steps, and the moon phase can be changed to match a scene or a playing style. Weather can be switched to rain on demand. Settings can be kept per world or applied globally as a default for every world the client loads.

Only the client needs the mod; a server runs without it and nothing changes on the server side. It requires Utilize, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Files are published for Fabric alone, across nine release versions 1.21 – 1.21.8, with 2.1.0+1.21.6-1.21.8 for 1.21.8 as the latest file.

Key features

  1. Time of day control

The client clock can be set to any time, which suits cinematic captures and specific story moments.

  2. Per world settings

Each world can keep its own time configuration, separate from the defaults used elsewhere.

  3. Fine-grained adjustment

Time can be moved in very small increments rather than only in fixed jumps.

  4. Moon phase and rain

The moon phase can be changed independently, and rain can be started whenever the player wants it.

Use cases

Cinematic screenshots

A player can hold a chosen time and moon phase while taking pictures or recording a scene.

Per world atmosphere

Different worlds can keep different times and weather, so each map keeps its own mood.

Who it’s for: Players who record videos, take screenshots or build atmospheric scenes on their own client, including single-player worlds and multiplayer servers where the client changes only its own display.
