Extended Barrels adds a series of tiered barrel blocks on Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, each holding more items than the vanilla barrel.

What it does

Six new barrel blocks extend the vanilla barrel, starting with the Iron Barrel at 36 slots and rising through the Copper Barrel at 45 slots, the Gold Barrel at 55 slots, the Diamond Barrel at 60 slots and the Emerald Barrel at 65 slots, to the Netherite Barrel with 78 slots. Players progress through the tiers to store more items in one place as the world advances.

The mod is available only for 1.20.1 and is published for Forge alone, with a single file, 0.1.0, dated 2026-01-29. Extended Barrels is client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is not open source and is released under All rights reserved.

    The new barrels keep a plain inventory layout that resembles the vanilla barrel and does not add extra screens.

  4. Storage progression

    Each tier is crafted in turn, so players grow their storage as they advance through the game.
