ExParticle is a NeoForge library that extends the particle effects available to other mods and to datapacks running on Minecraft 1.21.1.
What it does
The library provides an extended particle effect system, so mods built on it can display particles beyond those in vanilla Minecraft. It runs on client and server, and both the server and every player need it. The project is published for NeoForge only, for Minecraft 1.21.1, and the latest file is 1.5.2, released 2026-08-20. The code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the project is open source.

Adds an extended particle effect layer that other mods can use to show effects beyond the vanilla set.
Video particle support
A video feature can play footage as particles, but it needs JavaCV placed in the javacv folder inside the game directory.
Game directory folder
A javacv folder in the gamedir location, next to the mods folder, holds the extra files that the video feature loads.
