Error 404 Not Found adds a mysterious entity that appears in a world after its textures and mobs begin to act strange, for Forge 1.20.1.

What it does

The mod places a horror entity into an existing or new world. Its appearance is tied to a set of strange events: textures go missing, unfamiliar mobs spawn, and portal-like shapes show in the sky. The author describes the mod as one that does not corrupt a world or damage the device it runs on.

Spawning can follow two mechanics. The default one spawns the entity only when a CD is inserted into a computer. A separate option switches on the spawning mechanic used by the author's earlier build. If the entity has not appeared for a long time, a command is available for forcing it, and the author asks players to report any problem with it in the comments.

Geckolib is required and must be installed next to Error 404 Not Found. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files exist for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 1.3.8 as the latest build from 2025-05-05. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
