End Remastered
by jack-bagel
Players who want to reach the End must first collect 16 custom eyes, which End Remastered scatters through vanilla structures and boss fights.
What it does
Sixteen new eyes are hidden across the world, and each one is found inside a vanilla structure or dropped by a vanilla mob. Desert Pyramids, Nether Fortresses, Jungle Pyramids, Buried Chests, Mineshafts, Pillager Outposts and Evokers all hold one. Once a player has at least 12 eyes, they can follow them to the Stronghold, where the portal opens only when all 12 custom eyes are placed in its frames.
A vanilla Eye of Ender already sitting in a portal frame can be removed by right-clicking it with a custom eye. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 29 release versions, 1.16.3 – 26.3, and requires Fabric API on Fabric. The environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it, and the code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which makes it open source.
Key features
Sixteen custom eyes
Each eye is tied to a vanilla structure or boss, so a run through the world covers a large share of its areas.
Twelve-eye portal
The Stronghold portal needs 12 custom eyes instead of the vanilla count, so players must gather more than the default set.
Eye tracking
Once enough eyes are held, they point the way toward the Stronghold, guiding the player to the portal.
Vanilla eye replacement
A vanilla Eye of Ender in a portal frame can be swapped out with a custom eye by right-clicking it.
