EMI Book is a client-side utility that makes the EMI recipe viewer look and behave like vanilla's Recipe Book on 1.21.1.
What it does
Fabric and NeoForge builds of EMI Book for 1.21.1 let the EMI recipe viewer take over the place of the Recipe Book. The mod shifts the screen to the right while EMI is active, so the layout matches the familiar Recipe Book arrangement, and it adds Recipe Book buttons on some screens where they are otherwise missing.
Cloth Config API and EMI are required, and Mod Menu is optional. EMI Book runs on the client alone, so players install it and servers do not need it. The code is open source under the MIT License, and public links to the source and issue tracker are available. The latest Fabric file is 1.0.1 and the latest NeoForge file is 1.1.1, both for 1.21.1.

Recipe Book imitation
Recipes open in the place where the vanilla Recipe Book would show them, so the lookup follows the usual layout.
Screen shift
The screen moves right while the viewer is active, mirroring the layout of the Recipe Book.
Recipe Book buttons
Buttons are added to certain screens that lack them, using the default Recipe Book action.
Effect location switch
The position of status effects can be set to right, right compressed or other options while the viewer is active.

Custom viewer config presets, such as one that mirrors the two-page Recipe Book, can be applied through Cloth Config.

Players who prefer the vanilla Recipe Book layout can keep that arrangement while using the viewer for recipe lookup.

Players can switch the status effect location and choose presets to fit their screen and HUD preferences.
