EasyFind
by tbd61
EasyFind is a client-side search tool that lets players locate items in the creative inventory and by name, with results shown as a list.
What it does
Pressing the backtick key, which sits just below Esc, opens a search bar that resembles Spotlight Search. Typing a few letters filters items with fuzzy matching, and the up and down arrows move through the result list. Pressing Enter gives the player the chosen block or item, so the search can stand in for hunting through creative tabs.
Prefix searches work in the same style as JEI, REI and EMI, and recently searched items are kept in a history for quick reuse. Behaviour can be adjusted in the settings, which are edited through YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). The mod targets the Fabric, Forge and NeoForge loaders and is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0; the source code and issue tracker are public. Builds exist for 1.19 – 1.21.8, with 2.0 as the latest file for each loader.
Key features
Fuzzy creative search
Items are matched by partial, loosely spelled names, so a few letters are enough to find a block in the creative inventory.
Prefix searches
Prefix queries follow the same pattern as JEI, REI and EMI, which suits players already used to those search syntaxes.
Search history
Previously searched items are stored, so a repeated lookup needs only a single keystroke or click to reach.
Adjustable behaviour
Several search behaviours can be changed in the settings screen, and the chosen values are kept between sessions.

Use cases
Finding a block in creative
A builder who knows part of a block's name can type it into the search bar and receive the item directly, without scrolling through every creative tab.
Who it’s for: Creative players and builders who work with large item lists will find the search bar most useful. The mod runs on the client alone, so it suits single-player worlds and multiplayer clients.
