With Easy Install, players can browse, install and update mods, resource packs, data packs and shaders from Modrinth without leaving the game.
What it does
The mod adds a browsing screen for Modrinth content. From it, a player can search projects, open their descriptions and galleries, choose among the versions that match the game version, and install a project together with its required dependencies in one click. Mods take effect after a restart of the game, while other content such as resource packs, data packs and shaders needs no restart.
Update checks are built into the same screen: a button at the top right shows the installed projects that have newer files, and the results can be narrowed by category or moved through page by page. Because the mod is installed only on the player's client, a server does not need it to be present.
The mod is published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt across 16 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3. Fabric API is required, and Iris Shaders is an optional dependency. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
