Dusk Autumns Worldgen Datapack

by DuskAutumnStorm

Dusk Autumns Worldgen Datapack adds nine new biomes to existing terrain, mostly snowy and warm variants of stony shores, taigas, forests, plains and rivers.

FabricForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT License1.20 – 1.20.1

What it does

The datapack places its biomes into regions that already generate. Snowy Stony Shore and two snowy taiga variants take the place of ordinary shores and taigas in cold areas, while Frozen Mangrove Swamp appears in snowy regions. Cold Forest and Cold Plains replace forests and plains near snowy regions, and Warm Rivers cuts through mesa and desert regions. Warm Forest replaces forests close to dry regions.

Villages in the new biomes are assigned outfits suited to them instead of the default plains outfits. The biomes are tagged for the Biome Tag Villagers mod, which is built to handle villager outfits. Jungle villages are not planned. Future updates may add structures such as dig sites in deserts.

The server needs the datapack, while players may add it on their side. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with 1.1.0+mod as the latest file for 1.20.1.

Key features

  1. Nine new biomes

Snowy and warm variants of stony shores, taigas, forests, plains, rivers and swamps are added to existing world generation.

  2. Biome replacement

Several biomes take the place of their vanilla counterparts in specific cold or dry regions, so terrain layout stays familiar.

  3. Villager outfits

Villages in the new biomes receive outfits suited to the terrain, rather than the default plains outfits.

  4. Biome tags

The new biomes carry biome tags, so mods that read those tags can recognize them.
