Durability Overhaul
Durability Overhaul reworks how item durability and enchantments behave, so worn tools stay in play instead of vanishing.
What it does
Items do not disappear when they break. A broken item becomes unusable and can be repaired only with its full amount of material. The Mending enchantment doubles durability, and anvil repairs apply enchantments and cost experience, so repair work stays a deliberate step rather than a free fix. The mod also adds an enchanter that lets players apply enchantments to weapons with books or other enchanted items.
Durability Overhaul runs on the client and on the server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering game versions 1.18.2 – 1.20.4 (6 release versions). The license is All rights reserved, and the mod is not open source, though its source code is public.
Key features
Unusable instead of broken
Items that reach zero durability stay in the inventory as unusable items until they are repaired.
Material-based repair
Repairs need the full amount of the item's repair material, and Mending doubles the durability an item can hold.
Enchanter and anvil
An enchanter applies books and enchanted items to weapons, and the table allows higher maximum levels at the same enchantment power.
