Drop Stacker
by suwizx_
Drop Stacker merges dropped item entities lying on the ground into single piles, which reduces entity lag on servers and in singleplayer worlds.
What it does
Drop Stacker is a Fabric mod that automatically combines item entities on the ground into one entity, so a farm or busy area no longer leaves hundreds of separate drops for the game to track. Its scan radius and scan interval are configurable, along with the stack size.
Items can stack beyond vanilla's 64-item limit up to a configured maxStackSize, with per-item overrides. A colorful count label can appear above stacks once they pass configurable thresholds, and an optional despawn countdown with urgency-based colors can show how long a pile has left. Item rules accept blacklists, whitelists and per-item overrides that match item tags such as minecraft:logs as well as exact ids. Server owners can reload the config, report stats and tune settings without a restart.
Only the server needs it, and players join without installing anything. Drop Stacker requires Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin, is released under the MIT License and is published for Fabric across 14 release versions, 1.21.1 – 26.3.
Key features
Instant merging
New drops join a nearby pile in the same tick they spawn, so mob drops collapse before they reach the ground.
Whole-pile collapse
A single merge pass drains compatible neighbours, turning a large pile into one entity at once.
Limitless piles
Stacks can exceed vanilla's 64-item limit, up to a configured maxStackSize with per-item overrides.
Item rules
Blacklists, whitelists and stack-size overrides accept exact item ids or item tags.
Named items kept intact
Renamed items keep their label and are never folded into another pile without notice.
