Dismantle Table

by wzz

Dismantle Table is a Forge utility block that reverses finished items into the materials used to craft them, with a large preview grid for choosing among recipes.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

A player places an item in the left input slot, and the right-hand grid lists the materials the item breaks down into. Every run takes away a single unit from the input and yields one complete set of materials, which the player collects from the output slot. Items with several crafting paths can be cycled through with Previous and Next buttons before disassembly.

The table works with vanilla crafting tables and with recipes registered by other mods, including complex ones, and it also covers furnace, smithing table and stonecutter recipes. Anything crafted through the regular Recipe system is eligible for disassembly, whereas a short built-in list of scarce items is excluded. Enchantments are carried into the output: an enchanted item yields an enchanted book holding those enchantments. Because the mod supports NBT inheritance, a blade can be reforged without losing the data invested in it. Dismantle Table runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.

Key features

  1. Recipe-based disassembly

Items are reduced to the materials of their registered recipes, one unit per execution.

  2. Large preview grid

An 11 by 11 grid shows the resulting materials, with controls for previewing before output.

  3. Multiple recipe paths

Items with several crafting methods can be switched between with Previous and Next buttons.

  4. Enchantment and NBT retention

Enchantments are moved into an enchanted book in the output slot, and item data is kept through NBT inheritance.

Use cases

Reforging gear

A player can reforge an enchanted blade and keep the data put into it, rather than starting over.

Recovering materials

Players who no longer need a finished item can break it down into the components used to craft it.

Who it’s for: Players on Forge 1.20.1 who run modpacks with many recipes from other mods, and server owners who want a reverse-crafting block on a shared world.

A powerful reverse-crafting mod that breaks the limits of traditional disassembly tables, allowing you to reverse any finished item back into its raw materials. Unlike ordinary disassembly tables (such as the one in Twilight Forest), this mod uses deep reflection scanning technology. It not only supports vanilla…
