Digital Items 3
by SirEdvin
Digital Items 3 lets players digitize items into numeric IDs that can be stored, sent to friends and turned back into items through the Digitizer block.
What it does
Digitizing an item replaces it with an ID, a number that is unique and can be used only once, so the ID cannot be guessed. Holding the ID allows the item to be rematerialized later, either by the same player or by someone the ID was sent to. Digitized items start a decay countdown; if left too long they are gone. Refreshing the ID partially rematerializes the item and resets the countdown. Information about a digitized item can be read from the ID while the item is still inside the Digitizer.
Operations performed inside the Digitizer require a configurable amount of energy. The same operations are exposed as a peripheral to CC: Tweaked, so wireless item transfer can be scripted. Fabric Language Kotlin, Forge Config API Port and Kotlin for Forge are required, depending on the loader. The mod is client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under the MIT License, which makes it open source. Files cover 1.20 – 1.21.1 across Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
Key features
Item digitization
Items are turned into a numeric ID that stores the item and can be sent to another player.
Single-use IDs
Each ID is unique and can be rematerialized only once, and cloning items by duplicating IDs is possible.
Decay countdown
Digitized items decay over time and are lost if not rematerialized, with refreshing as a way to extend them.
CC: Tweaked peripheral
Digitizer operations are exposed to CC: Tweaked, so item transfer can be automated with scripts.

Use cases
Wireless item transfer
Players send items to other players or to a remote storage point by sharing an ID, without moving the item physically.
Automated logistics
Computers can digitize and rematerialize items through the peripheral, which suits automated item networks.
Who it’s for: Players who run CC: Tweaked setups and want wireless item movement, and server owners who need the mod on both sides for multiplayer item transfer.
How it compares
Wireless Networks is a Fabric-only option for 1.20 – 1.20.1 under the Apache License 2.0, and it is not open source. Transprotwo is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.16.5 – 1.21.8, and it runs on client and server.

What the author says
There is no significat diferrences from Digital Items 2, but all things related to energy consumption are not implemented yet. This mod allows you to turn your items into numbers (called IDs), which you can store or send to your friends and then turn them back into their item form. Every ID is unique, can't be…
