Dense Ores

by NewJumper

Dense Ores changes how much material overworld and Nether ores yield when mined, with rarer dense clumps in place of ordinary ore.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.18.2 – 26.2

What it does

Dense Ores adds dense variants of traditional Minecraft ores. Mining a dense ore drops more material than the normal counterpart, up to three times the amount for overworld ores, and a dense ore is much rarer and appears in smaller clumps, so it is worth watching for. Fortune and Silk Touch apply to dense ores in the usual way, and dense Nether ores are included as well. The mod is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, with public source code and an issue tracker. It needs Fabric API on Fabric, runs on client and server, and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 18 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.2.

Key features

  1. Double-yield traditional ores

Traditional ores such as coal, iron and gold have dense forms that drop about double the material of the normal block.

  2. Triple-yield overworld dense ores

Overworld dense ores yield as many as three times the material of standard ores, but they spawn in smaller clumps and far less often.

  3. Fortune and Silk Touch support

Dense ores respond to Fortune and Silk Touch in the same way as the ores they replace, so enchantments still shape the return.

What the author says

Dense Ores adds dense variations to all overworld ores which can drop up to three times the amount of materials compared to their normal counterparts. However, these dense ores are much more rarer and in smaller clumps, so keep an eye out! Dense ores drop more materials and experience and can be mined using Fortune…
