DebugGUIScale
by Aeroshide
DebugGUIScale lets players set the size of the F3 debug overlay separately from the scale of the rest of the game interface.
What it does
The mod gives the F3 debug screen its own GUI scale, so the text can be made larger or smaller without changing the menus, HUD and other screens. A player turns the separate scale on or off and adjusts it in the mod's options, which are stored in a simple JSON config file. Options can be changed independently of each other, so the debug overlay can be tuned while the rest of the interface stays as it is.
The mod is client-side only, so a player installs it and the server does not need it. It runs on Fabric and is published for 15 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2, with 1.3.1 for 26.2 as the latest Fabric file, released on 2026-06-20. Installation requires Rose Bush, a library mod that supplies the options screen. Fabric API is optional. ModMenu is no longer required, because the options are now registered through the Vanilla Options API that Rose Bush provides; the author notes that ModMenu support was dropped in a later release, while an earlier build still supports ModMenu. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Key features
Separate debug overlay scale
The F3 debug menu uses its own scale setting, independent of the scale used by the rest of the game interface.
Always-on overlay scale option
An option keeps the debug overlay at its chosen scale at all times, including when the regular GUI scale changes.
Saved configuration
Each option is switched on or off separately, and the choices are saved in a simple JSON config file.
Expandable options screen
The options screen can be expanded with a click, showing the scale controls and the on or off settings together.

Who it’s for: Players who use the F3 debug screen often, such as those who inspect coordinates, entities or performance, and want that overlay sized differently from the rest of the interface.
How it compares
Force GUI Scale is a Fabric client-side mod under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, published for 1.21 – 1.21.11, and it is open source. Visual Ratio is a Fabric client-side mod under the MIT License, published for 1.21.8 – 26.2, and it is open source. Better GUI Scaling is a Fabric client-side mod under a custom license, published only for 1.17.1, and it is not open source. DebugGUIScale targets the F3 overlay alone, and the other mods change GUI scaling more broadly.
