Death Message Expander is a Fabric client-side mod that expands shortened death messages in chat so the full text appears.
What it does
When a server shortens death messages, the mod detects the shortened text in chat and replaces it with the full version. Players see the complete description of a death, such as a player slain by another player using a named weapon, without any setup.
The full text is shown in a hover tooltip on the message, and the expansion runs automatically with no configuration. The mod works with Minecraft languages, so messages in other languages are expanded as well. Only the client needs it, and servers keep their shortened messages. Files are published for Fabric across 12 release versions, released under the MIT License and as open source.
