Dungeon Difficulty x Jade

by KevzCz

Dungeon Difficulty x Jade is a compatibility addon that lets Jade display the Power Level that Dungeon Difficulty assigns to mobs.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Jade normally reports what a player looks at, and this addon extends that readout to mobs scaled by Dungeon Difficulty. Once a mob has been scaled, its Power Level appears in the Jade overlay. The addon needs Dungeon Difficulty to be installed alongside it, because the Power Level values come from that mod.

The Power Level is shown only when the show attributes option is turned on in the scaling settings, and the display itself is switched on inside the Jade Entities config. Both options can be changed on the server, and the client reads the result. The mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is published for Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1 only. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the project keeps a public source repository and issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Power Level in Jade

Jade displays the Power Level of a mob after Dungeon Difficulty has scaled it, next to the other entity details.

  2. Attribute display option

Showing the Power Level depends on the show attributes option, so players see the value only when the server allows it.

  3. Entities config switch

The Power Level readout can be enabled or disabled inside the Jade Entities config.

  4. Scaled mob information

The overlay reports the difficulty-adjusted power of a mob, so a player can judge a fight before engaging.

Use cases

Checking mob strength

A player looking at a mob in a Dungeon Difficulty world can read its scaled Power Level without leaving the game view.

Server-side tuning

Server owners who run scaled dungeons can decide whether the attribute display is shown to players.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who use Dungeon Difficulty together with Jade on Minecraft 1.21.1 and want the scaled Power Level shown in the overlay.

How it compares

Full comparison

Better Difficulty also works on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1, is licensed under the MIT License, and runs on client and server, but it changes difficulty rather than reporting it in Jade. Jade Block Hider is a NeoForge-only mod for 1.21.1 under All rights reserved, and it only affects which blocks Jade displays. Dungeon Difficulty x Jade stays focused on the Power Level readout.
