DaylightChangerStruggle

by JuggleStruggle

DaylightChangerStruggle is a client-side Fabric and Quilt tool that changes the time of day in a player's own world with smooth cycles.

FabricQuiltClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.18 – 26.3

What it does

Players pick one of several cycle types, and the mod moves the in-game time through the chosen pattern. The transition between stages follows an easing curve that controls how the change animates, and only some cycle types use easings. The motion is not tied to game ticks alone: interpolation between ticks keeps the change visually smooth.

The mod can be switched off so the world daylight returns to normal, and a separate option disables the night-vision effect that would otherwise brighten the screen at night. Its interface is built on libraries that let it add its own configuration screens, with tooltips on almost every widget. A player can also use commands alongside the user interface, and the mod is noted as compatible with shader and rendering mods such as Sodium and Iris.

Since the initial release, the mod has offered the cycle types listed in its menu. To reach that menu after disabling World Time, the player opens the Cycle Menu and switches cycles by clicking two arrows, one pointing each way. The mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code and issue tracker are public. Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric, and the 1.18 – 26.3 range covers 20 release versions.

Key features

  1. Cycle types

A player chooses among several cycle types, each of which sets the time of day in its own pattern.

  2. Easing transitions

Easing curves decide how the time change animates between stages, and only some cycle types use them.

  3. World daylight toggle

The mod's daylight changes can be switched off, which returns the world to its normal day and night pattern.

  4. Night-vision option

A setting disables the night-vision brightening effect, so nights stay dark when the option is on.

  5. Command support

Commands can be used alongside the user interface to control the cycle without opening the menu.
