Better Cutter

Better Cutter adds a stonecutter-style crafting block that turns stone, wood, copper and other materials into many alternate forms, with recipes covering the mod's full set of inputs.

What it does

Players feed a block into the cutter and pick an output from its list, which covers cut glass, stone, wood, copper and deepslate variants, along with heads, amethyst buds and cobblestone-based slabs, stairs and walls. Copper items can also have their wax removed or be turned back one stage of oxidation. Better Cutter is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, plus a data pack, for the 1.21 – 26.3 range. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing it. The optional 5555ff-lib dependency can be added alongside it.

  1. Cutting recipes

    The cutter converts glass, stone, wood and copper blocks into their related shapes, including slabs, stairs and walls.

  2. Copper handling

    Waxed copper can be stripped, and copper items step back one oxidation stage, such as from oxidized to weathered.

  3. Wood and log outputs

    Logs yield doors, planks and hanging signs, and stripped logs produce planks, shelves and doors.
