Customized

by Mangopill

Customized changes the cooking system, adding new cooking methods and recipes, plus food that grants timed buffs when eaten.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Cooking gains several new methods, and dishes can be prepared in ways that vanilla does not offer. Customized also lets server owners and pack makers write their own recipes, so the set of dishes can be extended without code. Food buffs are the mod's main effect: eating certain dishes gives special status effects, such as moving on powder snow without sinking, resistance to fire, or protection against phantoms.

The mod is built for Forge and NeoForge, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it installed. Builds exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Patchouli is an optional dependency, and it adds its guide book when present. Customized is open source under the MIT License, and its source code, issue tracker and wiki are all public.

Key features

  1. New cooking methods

Additional ways to cook food are added alongside the vanilla furnace and campfire methods.

  2. Food buffs

Eating specific dishes applies special effects, including walking on powder snow, fire resistance and phantom prevention.

  3. Customizable recipes

Recipes for the new dishes and cooking steps can be created and changed by the player.

  4. Dish-specific effects

Each dish has its own effect, so the choice of what to cook affects what the character can do.
