CreRaces Legacy is a downscaled Forge and NeoForge adventure mod that restores the look of CreRaces as it worked in its earlier builds.

What it does

CreRaces Legacy is built on an early CreRaces release and aims to recreate that version's feel, with many of the later features removed. The author describes the two mods as meant to run together and somewhat interchangeable, with CreRaces Classic and CreRaces Legacy sharing a similar purpose. Pehkui has to be present for the mod to function as intended, so it must be installed alongside CreRaces Legacy.

Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Builds cover game versions 1.16.5 – 1.20.6 for Forge and NeoForge, with 2.0.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest Forge file and 2.0.0 for 1.20.6 as the latest NeoForge file. The code is not open source and the mod is released under All rights reserved. Just Enough Items (JEI) is optional.

Key features

  1. Race Selection Crystal

    A crystal lets a player change race after one has been picked at startup, which the author notes was a missing option in earlier builds.

  2. Race Reset Crystal

    A separate crystal resets a race that has already been selected, since changing race does not work once one is chosen.

  3. Creative-only items

    Some items are available in creative mode only, so survival play is not affected by them.

  4. Placeholder assets

    Most assets are included as they are, and some textures are placeholders that stand in for the final product.

Players who want the feel of the early CreRaces releases can use this version, with fewer races and abilities than the current mod.

Remember Pehkui is required for the mod to work correctly. CreRaces, CreRaces Classic and CreRaces Legacy are NOT meant to run together but they are somewhat interchangeable!
