Create: Big Pharma
by dizzafizza
Create: Big Pharma adds pharmaceutical manufacturing to Create, with chemistry, research and medicine production built on Create's belts, funnels and rotational power.
What it does
Big Pharma expands Create with large-scale automated production of medicines and process chemicals. A player starts with a small laboratory where molecular fragments are extracted from plants, minerals and other materials and analyzed to reveal new compounds. Discoveries are recorded in the Pharmacopoeia, which gradually shows how medicines are produced and what role each ingredient plays, and some research yields familiar medications while others lead to more advanced experimental pharmaceuticals.
Raw materials pass through several processing stages before becoming finished products, and the production lines use specialized machines that connect to Create's belts, funnels, pipes and rotational power. Medicines come as pills, syrups, inhalers, IV bags and blister packs, and each delivery method behaves differently: pills take longer to absorb, inhalers act almost at once, and IV bags give a slow, continuous infusion. Medicines carry their own pharmacological properties and are not food items with potion effects, and taking too much has consequences, such as tolerance, withdrawal symptoms and overdose.
The mod requires Create and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Just Enough Items (JEI) is optional. Files are published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, and the latest file is 0.3.1-b, a beta build. The mod is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is not open source.
Key features
Pharmaceutical production lines
Specialized machines chain together into automated lines that turn raw materials into finished medicines.
Molecular research
Extracting fragments from plants and minerals and analyzing them reveals new compounds and recipes.
Pharmacopoeia records
Each discovery is logged in the Pharmacopoeia, which tracks how medicines are made and what ingredients do.
Delivery forms
Pills, syrups, inhalers, IV bags and blister packs each act on their own timing.
Factory upgrades
Higher rotational speed raises output, and the machines are built to fit into the existing Create factory.

How it compares
Create: Mass Production is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 under the MIT License, not open source, that runs on client and server like Big Pharma. Create: Chemistry Plus is also a NeoForge 1.21.1 mod under the MIT License with the same client and server environment, and is not open source. Mekanism Elementified is a NeoForge 1.21.1 mod under the MIT License and is open source, so its source code can be read, while Big Pharma is not.
