Crate Delight
by Axperty
With Crate Delight, produce, fish, eggs and seeds can be stored in compact crates and bags instead of filling inventory slots one stack at a time.
What it does
The mod adds storage blocks grouped by food type. Produce crates take carrots, beetroots, potatoes, poisonous potatoes, apples, berries and glow berries, among others. Fish crates hold salmon, cod, pufferfish and tropical fish, while a separate set of crates handles the different egg varieties. Golden carrots and golden apples get a crate of their own, and a group of bags covers baked goods, sweets, brewing and crafting materials, and leaf litter.
The crates and bags are meant to reduce storage clutter in survival worlds, farms and food-focused modpacks. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Its files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.19 – 26.3 and 27 release versions in total. The code is open source under the MIT License.
The Crate Delight: Croptopia extension adds over 50 more crates and bags for Croptopia foods. Polymer Patch for Crate Delight is also published for it, so it is one of the two mods that require the main mod.
Key features
Produce crates
Crates for carrots, beetroots, potatoes, apples, berries and glow berries keep harvests stacked by type.
Fish and egg crates
Salmon, cod, pufferfish and tropical fish share one crate, while eggs of several kinds get their own.
Golden item crates
Golden carrots and golden apples are stored together in a dedicated crate.
Food and material bags
Baked goods, sweets, brewing ingredients and crafting materials go into bags sized for bulk storage.
Seed bags
Wheat, pumpkin, melon and beetroot seeds are kept in bags that take up less room than loose stacks.

Use cases
Farm storage
Harvests from a farm can be sorted into produce crates as they come in, keeping chests from filling with single-item stacks.
Food-focused modpacks
Modpacks built around cooking and farming can use the crates to organize a large food supply.
Who it’s for: Players who gather or cook large amounts of food, and server owners who want a tidier food economy.
How it compares
Go Fish Rehooked is open source under the MIT License, runs on client and server, and is published for 1.20.2 – 26.3, so it covers fishing rather than storage. Seed Delight is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with files for 1.18 – 1.21.1. Decorative Bags is closed source under All rights reserved and targets Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, so it is a bag-based alternative with a narrower loader list.
