CraftCore

by iluxa69

CraftCore changes how recipes behave in crafting, smelting, blasting, stonecutting and smithing, and rebalances the output counts of many vanilla recipes.

What it does

The mod adds more than 700 logical recipes, including Stonecutter expansions and a set of vanilla rebalancing changes. Crafting Table, inventory crafting grid, Furnace, Blast Furnace, Stonecutter and Smithing Table all receive adjusted behavior. Items placed in the player's 2x2 grid are shifted one slot so they cannot be crafted from the inventory, and tools such as Copper and Diamond cannot be upgraded in the usual way. Damaged Anvil and Chipped Anvil recipes cover the iron anvil upgrades, and quick crafting covers tools, spears, planks and colored items. Waxed copper blocks keep their waxed state during crafting, and Glow Ink Sacs work like Glow Item Frame recipes.

Output quantities change for many vanilla recipes, for example Iron Trapdoor, Copper Trapdoor, Wooden Doors, Iron Door, Bamboo Hanging Sign and Bamboo Shelf. The complete list is too long for the catalog and is kept in the GitHub repository. Players who want certain recipes removed can delete the matching folder inside the data pack, under data/ccore/recipe or data/ccore/advancement/recipes, and the mod has a module system for that purpose.

CraftCore runs on Fabric and Forge and is published as a data pack. Files cover 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, with snapshot builds published. It is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Extended stonecutting

Stonecutter recipes are expanded beyond the vanilla set, with more than 700 logical recipes overall.

  2. Adjusted vanilla outputs

Many vanilla recipes yield different item counts, such as copper trapdoors, wooden doors and bamboo shelves.

  3. Anvil upgrade recipes

Damaged Anvil and Chipped Anvil recipes cover iron block upgrades that vanilla does not provide.

  4. Modular recipe removal

Individual recipe categories can be removed by deleting the matching folder in the data pack.

Questions

Does CraftCore need to be installed on the server?

Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. The server needs the mod, while players may add it without changing their experience of the server.

Which loaders does CraftCore support?

Files are published for Fabric and Forge, and the latest Fabric file is 3.0.0 for 26.3. A data pack option is also listed for server platforms.

Can a recipe from CraftCore be removed?

Yes. Deleting the matching folder in the data pack removes that recipe category, and deleting the stonecutting folder prevents error logs on the server.

In the catalog

What the author says

The item being upgraded is shifted by one slot to prevent crafting within the player's inventory (the 2x2 grid). Copper Diamond tools cannot be upgraded this way.
