Craftpilot
Craftpilot is a Fabric utility that puts an AI building assistant inside the game, showing suggested blocks as a transparent overlay while a player builds.
What it does
Placing a block to begin a new build, or to continue an existing one, makes suggestions appear automatically. A separate trigger key, R by default, requests suggestions without placing a block. The suggested blocks are drawn as a transparent overlay over the world, so they can be followed or ignored without changing the build.
The suggestions come from a companion program that runs an ML model. That program is a separate process: it can be started from the source code, run locally, or run on a remote server, and the mod connects to it automatically when it is local. For a remote server, the connection URL is set in the mod settings. The model is performance intensive and depends on the hardware it runs on, so generation speed and suggestion quality can be traded against each other.
Settings live in the craftpilot.json config file and in a configuration screen reached through Mod Menu. They cover the overlay appearance, building behavior and three main options that affect performance, along with advanced configuration for troubleshooting. Craftpilot requires Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and the files are published for 1.21.3 – 1.21.11.
Key features
Automatic suggestions
Suggestions appear on their own after a block is placed, so a build can continue without opening any menu.
Manual trigger
The trigger key, R by default, requests a suggestion without placing a block.
Transparent overlay
Suggested blocks are drawn as a see-through overlay on the world, leaving the actual build unchanged.
Companion program
An external program runs the ML model and can be run locally from source or on a remote server.
Adjustable performance

How it compares
PythonConnectMod is client-side only and covers 1.21.4 under the MIT License. Litematica Companion is also client-side only, licensed under the MIT License, with files for 1.21 – 26.2, so it targets a wider range than Craftpilot. MC Assist is server-side only and covers 1.21 – 1.21.11 under a license that is not open source, so players join without installing anything.
