Craftable Mushrooms

by itzdragoncze

Craftable Mushrooms lets players craft mushroom blocks from common mushrooms through recipes added by a datapack.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT License1.13 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod ships as a datapack that adds recipes for mushroom blocks, so mushrooms can be turned into the blocks in crafting. Players install it by dropping the .zip file into the datapacks folder of a world, then loading the world. Recipes can be viewed in-game through Just Enough Items, or another item viewer, once the datapack is active.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the datapack form works on servers too. Server owners install it on the server, and players on a server that runs it need nothing extra. Builds cover 1.13 – 1.21.1, and the latest files target 1.21.1. The code is under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Mushroom block recipes

Recipes turn mushrooms into mushroom blocks, giving players a crafting route to them without finding them in the world.

  2. Datapack installation

A .zip file is dropped into a world's datapacks folder, so no code changes are needed in the game.

  3. Recipe viewing in-game

Added recipes appear in item viewers such as JEI, so players can check the inputs without leaving the game.

Use cases

Survival worlds

Players who want mushroom blocks for building can craft them from mushrooms collected in the world.

Server packs

Server owners can load the datapack on a server to add the recipes to the world used by all players.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want mushroom block recipes without installing a full mod on each client. The datapack form suits worlds and servers that already use datapacks.
