Create: Netherrack Recipe

by itzdragoncze

Create: Netherrack Recipe, a Create add-on, lets players automate netherrack production by pouring lava onto clay blocks inside a Create setup.

FabricForgeNeoForgeServer required, client optionalMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod adds a Create recipe that turns molten lava poured onto a clay block into netherrack, so a machine line can produce the block without manual mining. Create is required, and the recipe is loaded from a datapack when the world starts. Server owners who want the recipe on a dedicated server install it there, while clients may add the mod for a smoother setup but do not need it to join.

The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across two game versions, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with the same functionality on each loader. A datapack version is also available as a zip file, which can be dropped into a world's datapacks folder instead of installing the mod. Files are released under the MIT License and the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Automated netherrack

A Create recipe pours 100 mB of lava onto a clay block to produce netherrack, so the block can be made in a machine chain.

  2. Datapack option

The same recipe can be installed as a zip datapack placed in a world's datapacks folder, without any mod files.

  3. Recipe viewing

Just Enough Items (JEI) shows the new recipe in game, so players can check the inputs and outputs.

Use cases

Automated survival builds

Players who run a Create factory can feed lava and clay into a machine and collect netherrack without mining it by hand.

Server recipe changes

Server owners can add the recipe through the datapack instead of the mod, keeping the change in the world folder.

Who it’s for: Players who run Create factories and want netherrack as part of an automated chain, and server owners who prefer to add the recipe through a datapack.

Questions

Does Create: Netherrack Recipe need Create installed?

Yes. Create is a required dependency, so it must be installed alongside this mod on Fabric, Forge or NeoForge.

Can the server add the recipe without installing the mod?

Yes. The datapack zip can be placed in the world's datapacks folder, and the recipe then works without the mod files.

Which game versions does the mod support?

Files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, so a world on another version has no matching build.

In the catalog

Create: Netherrack Recipe is one of 8,499 Technology mods on ModsFinder, and one of 4,201 Technology mods for Fabric. 32,366 mods support Minecraft 1.21.1.
