Create: Copper Oxidizing

by itzdragoncze

Create: Copper Oxidizing lets copper spouts from the Create mod oxidize over time, and it ships as a datapack or a mod for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.

FabricForgeNeoForgeServer required, client optionalMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Copper spouts used with Create gain the oxidation stages that vanilla copper blocks go through, so their look changes as the world ages. The change is applied by a datapack, so it can be added to a world folder without a separate mod install on the client side.

Installation depends on the loader: the mod ships for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and a zip version is available for datapack use. Create must be present, since it is the only required dependency. The server must run the mod, while players may leave it out.

Files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Under the MIT License the code is not open source, and the latest Fabric and Forge builds are dated 2025-11-19 and 2025-11-18.

Key features

  1. Oxidizing copper spouts

Copper spouts oxidize through the same stages as vanilla copper, changing color as time passes in the world.

  2. Datapack install

A zip version can be placed into a world's datapacks folder to add the oxidation without installing a mod.

  3. Recipe viewing in JEI

Recipes for the spouts can be looked up in Just Enough Items or Use Enough Items while playing.

  4. Step-by-step setup

The author text walks through opening the world folder and placing the zip file inside the datapacks folder.

How it compares

Full comparison

Create: Oxidized works on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.18.2 – 1.21.1, is licensed under the MIT License, and runs on the server alone, so clients need nothing. Create: Oxidized plus is a NeoForge-only mod for 1.21 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License, where it is enough to install it on the server while players may skip it. Create: Patina is published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License, and both the server and every player need it.
