Coord Manager

by not_panos

Coord Manager lets players save named locations with coordinates, list them, find them by partial name and teleport to them, on a Fabric client or server.

FabricClient or server, optionalMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 26.3

What it does

Locations are saved under a name, with a dimension and a set of x, y and z coordinates. Names may contain spaces and are case-insensitive, so Home and home refer to the same location. A location can be shown with its details, and its coordinates copied to the clipboard. Tab completion helps: typing part of a name lists the matches, and a search returns a clickable list when several locations fit, so there is no need to type a whole name.

The mod works in singleplayer, and on a server the list is shared, so every player sees the same locations. Players only update and delete their own locations, while operators can change any of them, and the protectOthersLocations option, on by default, controls this. The saved list is kept per world in coordmanager/locations.json, which suits both dedicated servers and singleplayer worlds. Commands use the loc prefix; the 1.x locationsave command was replaced by it.

Coord Manager is released under the MIT License, and its source code and issue tracker are public. It runs on Fabric for game versions 1.21 – 26.3, with files for 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6 and 26.3. The latest file is 2.0.0+26.3 for 26.3.

Key features

  1. Named coordinate records

Each location stores a name, a dimension and x, y and z coordinates, and the record stays saved until it is deleted.

  2. Partial name search

Searching for part of a name finds every matching location, and a clickable list lets the player pick one.

  3. Coordinate copying

A location's x, y and z values can be copied in one action, and its details can be shown in chat.

  4. Teleport when permitted

The teleport option appears only for locations the player is allowed to use.

  5. Confirmed deletion

A delete command puts the removal in chat for confirmation, and deleting always needs the full name.

Questions

Does Coord Manager have to be installed on the server?

No. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so it works on a singleplayer client, on a server, or on both. The server list only becomes shared when the mod is installed on the server.

Where are the saved locations stored?

Locations are saved per world in coordmanager/locations.json, which works for dedicated servers as well as singleplayer.

Can players delete locations saved by others?

With protectOthersLocations enabled, which is the default, players can only update and delete their own locations, while operators can change any of them.
